What is worth knowing in advance

Preparing the teeth

For a veneer or a crown to sit evenly and look natural, a thin layer of enamel is removed from the tooth. Exactly how much depends on the task, and the doctor will say so in the plan, before the work begins.

Health comes first

Decay, canals and gums are treated before the aesthetics. A beautiful crown on a diseased tooth is money lost.

Whiteness has a limit

Teeth that are too white and too uniform look artificial. The doctor will suggest a shade that will look natural on you.

The bite matters more than the colour

If there are serious bite problems, aesthetics alone will not solve the task.

Frequent questions

It depends on how many show when you smile — most often between 8 and 20. The doctor defines the zone at the examination: there is no point doing more than is needed.
